Appreciation for the needle arts

It's always amazing to see the vast variety of hand sewn, embroidered and knit creations that are out there. Naturally, I'm sentimental about rescuing pieces that represent distant eras. For instance, it's hard for me to pass up even the smallest scraps of crazy quilt such as the one shown below. Surely there are crafters and artisans who are eager to use the patchwork to repair a blanket or create something new. It's deeply satisfying when my compulsion to rescue results in a connection down the road.
